Foundation Daw Park was established in the 1990’s by veterans to provide funding, facilities and equipment to support world-class medical research and patient care at the Repatriation General Hospital in South Australia. The purpose of the Foundation Daw Park website was to raise awareness of who they are, the services they provide, to encourage donations through the website and to promote upcoming events.

The Brief

  • Design a professional and educational website that staff can use to greatly increase awareness about the Foundation

  • Place emphasis and a clear call to action on Donations

  • Build an easy to use Content Management System so that staff can easily update the website content.

  • Incorporate an eCommerce gateway to allow for secure online donations.

  • Integration of an email marketing system to allow for the building of a database.

  • Include a News & Events Manager within the CMS so that the latest content can be updated quickly, and also syndicated into an RSS-feed.

  • Allow people to book and pay for Foundation Daw Park events online.


The Method

Strategic Plan:  It was important to work closely with the team at Foundation Daw Park during the scoping of the website to ensure that the design and navigation was going to be suitable for the numerous target markets that they wished to reach, while also encouraging online interaction.

Web Design and Development:  The website needed to be designed to not only clearly display the current work being undertaken by the Foundation, but also to appeal to and capture a market of potential corporate supporters.  Emphasis was also placed on the need to have a Donations link clearly visible on the homepage.

Content Management System:  A custom content management system was built for the website to allow for users to update all unique aspects easily.  These aspects included the ability to Manage Donations and perform reports on donations. 

The Result

The outcome of the redevelopment has been a professional and educational website that the staff at the Foundation can use to greatly increase awareness, gather further interest from corporate supporters, while continuing to increase online donations. Since launching the website it has continued to grow in terms of traffic, donations and support.
